About Prosper Global

Prosper Global (formerly Mercy Corps) is a global team working on the frontlines of crisis, poverty, and climate change to help build a world where everyone can prosper.

With support from Howden Foundation, Prosper Global is piloting four innovative approaches to improve how insurance responds to extreme heat and drought, through its Anticipatory Action Accelerator. These include rapid‑payout insurance in Uganda, livestock protection for farmers in Zimbabwe, tokenised livestock insurance for nomadic communities in Somaliland, and adaptive micro‑insurance for women in Papua New Guinea.

Since 2015, Prosper Global has backed venture-led solutions to strengthen resilience in underserved communities. In 2025, its Humanitarian Venture Lab launched the Anticipatory Action Accelerator to test and scale approaches that help communities prepare for climate shocks, build evidence through pilots, and mobilise capital for wider impact. Previous Venture Lab programmes have launched over 29 solutions and reached over 40,000 people.
